The essentials you need for festival season from Coachella to Lollapalooza

With less than two weeks ’til Coachella kicks off festival season, it was time to double check my list of mainstay festival goodies.

Whether you’re a first-timer or a veteran, these 9 picks continue to serve as a lifesaver at at least one point over the course of the weekend, no matter the festival excursion. I pack as light as I can for music festivals, but these keep me feeling as chic and put together as humanly possible even while out in the desert.

Clarins Sun Care Spray – A bad burn can put a damper on your entire weekend. If you bring nothing else, at least pack great sunscreen. This particularly magical spray protects both your skin AND your hair from the sun’s rays.

Mophie Powerstation – if you’re attending Coachella or the like, chances are you’re planning to properly capture the festivities for your feeds. Don’t risk being left high and dry without power. My Mophie goes everywhere with me, and this one has not only enough to power for your phone, but also for that of your friends or other devices in need of a charge.

Clinique Superbalm – Moisture is key when you’re exposed to the elements for an extended period of time. I’m a bit of a lip balm aficionado, and in my experience Superbalm is the best of the best.

Colgate Wisps – I am a bit fanatical about my oral care (and you probably are too after hours away from your toothbrush). Toss a few in your bag, and you’re set for the day!

Nuun Electrolyte Tablets – As much as I love the sun, 14 hours of it will inevitably take it’s toll. Revive yourself quickly and ramp up for the next day easily with electrolyte packets or tablets, an absolute lifesaver when you’re feeling depleted (my favorite is Nuun which I use by the truckload).

Yes to Cucumbers Face Wipes – Covering a multitude of uses, these babies come in handy while cleaning up finger food aftermath or while wiping the grime off your face after hour 12.

Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation (and other anti-melt makeup) – I swear by this version by Hourglass simply  because it A) stays put better than any other product I’ve ever tried B) is the perfect balance of sheer and coverage. One of my favorite secret weapons.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – A lifesaver when you are waking up late to catch a show. Let’s be honest. None of us have picture perfect hygiene when we’re at a weekend of concerts (although we still want to look as if we do). It’s not uncommon for me to freshen my hair on day two with dry shampoo and toss on a hat over wavy hair. My favorite is Batiste – super lightweight, no residue, with a fresh, clean scent.

Honest Hand Sanitizer – Hand sanitizer is at the top of my list of must-haves when I’m at a festival. In the land of unidentified sticky substances and compromised immune systems due to sleep deprivation, an effective germ killer is a must on my list. This one from the genius minds at The Honest Company is an eco-friendly, plant-based variety you can feel good about using.
